A gathering at Yandina of 15 Geese, a decision was made to head to Esk and away we went.
The group split somewhere around Nambour heading up to Dulong with some then taking shortcuts to try and meet up with the front group although not entirely successful it would seem.
The front riders waited a few times on the run towards Palmwoods and then up Hunchy/Razorback and down Stanley River Rd an onto Kilcoy for a regroup where some were already waiting and some arrived in a few minutes and some did not show up at all !
A couple of Geese headed back early from Kilcoy so that left 11 for the run around the bumpy Somerset Dam rd and into Esk for food & refreshment stop at 'Jules at the Rectory'
The run home took us along Gregors Creek rd back into Kilcoy and from there riders started splintering off towards home, some via Peachester some via Stanley River rd and reverse Hunchy. There was serious tree lopping removal being done on Gregors Creek rd, hopefully in preparation for some roadworks to widen this wonderful bit of road
So a great day out for those that made it all the way and around 300km of riding.
It might be a good idea next time for such a big group to have a second group leader in the situation when the group gets split and for everyone be informed the approximate route and final destination.
