Whilst the clouds were hovering and rain was about 11 intrepid Geese met at Yandina and a course set North to beat the wet stuff that was threatening.
Rod,Dave,Mick,Ian,Peter,Noel,Max,Dennis,Lee,Ozzie and Garry W took off and we travelled via Browns Crk, Eumundi Kenilworth Rd, Skyring Crk rd, Tuchekoi, Glastonbury to the Widgee rest stop just nth of the BP in town where a leg stretch was taken before heading over to 'The Rusty Ute Cafe' in Woolooga, with mainly dry roads once we got a bit west of Belli.
By this stage Mike L had sussed out where we were heading and joined us at Widgee, thus making 12.
At the Café some ate, some drank, some didn't, it then was decided that due to the Historic Dickabram Bridge on the Miva rd being closed for major work (until Nov 2018) we headed up the Bauple/Woolooga Rd and turned down the Old Gympie rd into Gunalda the back way and then south to new servo on the Hway as some needed fuel. So far so good, dry weather and dry roads and the clouds vanishing.
With fuel on board we slipped back north along the Hway then took the Anderleigh rd/Sandy Crk rd into the back of Gympie then headed via Cedar Pocket towards Kin Kin with a sharp eye looking out for gravel washed onto the roads, a stray cow, a horse being led off the road just in time and other assorted wildlife being spotted or flying close to riders, I tell ya it's a jungle out there !!
With appetites sorted and stories told at the 'Black Ant Gourmet Deli' at Kin Kin the Geese then started making their way home with some going via Wahpunga/ Cootharaba and others via Pomona etc..
A day that turned out to have some good weather, some sprited riding, and good company.
