Thurs 19th Jan

A good number of riders gathered at Guncotton with a promising weather outlook and after coffee and food taken, a bit of discussion took place as to where to go, and at first Rainbow Beach seemed to be the place but then with school hols still going and Fraser Island emptying of campers etc..and possibly men in uniform checking said campers we decided to head north and west. I said there was a new area that we as a group had not done, so away we went.

About a dozen riders took off with Max leading up the new highway and then the old highway to Traveston and then back of Gympie via Lawson rd etc..to take us around to Widgee, from there we went into Kilkivan and the Tansey curves and back towards Goomeri and turned up onto  new roads that took us up Boat Mountain on a back country road loop and back to Goomeri for lunch at the Hotel. From memory around 11 riders at lunch although it seemed we did not manage to solve world problems,(they can wait another day) but plenty of discussion took place.

After lunch a few went directly back on the Wide Bay hway and others retraced their route back via Tansey etc...although one member did a lot of travelling having lost his key fob near Glastonbury on the way out and going home only to come back out using a spare key and find said lost fob on the side of the road !!! talk about lucky and saving $$ for a new fob...

A really good day of riding had by all.
