ild Geese

Northern NSW trip

Monday 12th January four Geese (Mike,Garry Cosmo, Max, and Garry W.) headed South via Boonah and Queen Mary Falls Rd to Stanthorpe where we stayed at the Country Club Hotel...$70 per night for motel style rooms with own bathrooms ...all good.

Next  morning we rode to Tenterfield on the New England Hwy. then enjoyed the “Bruxner bends”to Tabulam where we turned North to Urbenville and Woodenbong to meet up with Mick and Ian who had ridden down to join us.

Followed the Summerland Way to Kyogle then a very pleasant twisty ride to Uki Pie shop for lunch. About 10 Klm past Uki we did a 40 Klm loop through Eungella, Tyalgum, Chillingham to Murwillumbah which is a recommended route in the Australian Motorcycle Atlas and well worth a visit .We then suffered through school hour traffic to Mullumbimby and with a little help from Google navigated our way on a narrow twisty road to Nimbin via Dunoon and The Channon which was a lot of fun!

From there it was back to Kyogle where we stayed at the Exchange Hotel for $55 per night...all good.

Wednesday we took the Lions Rd to Rathdowney then on to Boonah and home via Kilcoy.

Good weather, good roads, good company....What’s not to like?!

I live at Lake MacDonald with my wife Amanda, 2 horses, 1dog, 3 cats and a much loved Yamaha MT09. Moved here in 2016 after 30 years in Cairns to retire and enjoy the beaches ,forests and lots of twisty roads. I've ridden bikes all my life and hopefully will continue to do so for many more years.
