ild Geese

Thursday 18th report

Quite a cool morning greeted the early Geese at Yandina, myself, Ozzie and Garry W. We departed at 0610 with text messages from Mick Logan and White Mike saying they will meet us at Mary C Park. We headed up Dulong then across the well worn track to Palmwoods and up Hunchy due to the Palmwoods Montville Rd once again being closed, apparently for some major fixes, a slow run across the Range (tractor slasher) to Mary C Park saw us meet Mick Logan a bit later than planned and no Mike, so we waited for a while and decided to head off only to hear from White Mike he had arrived at Mary C earlier than  us,  no one was there so he kept going, we did catch him at Kilcoy ( he had time for a coffee) after a good run down Stanley River Rd and out to Kilcoy and we then road together.

A brisk run along Gregors Crk rd saw us arrive at 'Julies at the Rectory' at 0835, at which time coffee and breakfast were gratefully consumed. 2 QPS Bike patrol officers stopped for a chat at the Café and handed us each a packet containing a new chamois under the Road Safety initiative' Develop a Sixth Sense' being promoted by Qld Transport and the State Govt.

N.B. one unmarked BMW R1200 RS Blue and White, followed by the usual Yamaha FJR 1300 fully dressed.

Another brisk run across Wivenhoe Dam and back around Somerset Dam via Splityard Crk Rd to Kilcoy where we stopped to separate and find our way home, a great morning for riding and over 400km done by around lunchtime, look for more of these over the summer.
