A small gaggle of Geese (also known as a 'skein' when flying), headed south for 2 weeks or so in November.
The 'Snowy Ride' on the weekend of the 5th November is a major fundraiser for Research into Children's Cancer hugely supported by Honda Australia (who donate 3 new motorbikes for raffle prizes) and the Snowy Hydro scheme.
The event is run by the 'Steven Walter Children's Cancer Foundation' named after a promising young rider who lost his life to cancer and who requested funds be raised for research in his name. This is the 16th year of the 'Snowy ride' and it usually attracts between 2000 to 3000 riders into the Thredbo Snowy region for the weekend.
The Geese are home again and Rod has posted a ride report with photos.
