Despite the inclement weather (more rain in other words) we had seven riders turn up at Yandina. We set off southwards but upon reflection (and under instructions from Steve and Mike!) we turned around at Forest Glen and started back north on the highway.
Before we got to Widgee Ozzie and Dave dropped off leaving me, Ian, Mike, Steve and Rod still in it. We had dry roads from the Mary Valley Link Road so that was pretty good.
At Widgee we decided to go up the twisties on the Kilkivan-Tansey Road and then take a good new road (new for us), Booinbah Road, which cuts across the corner leaving off Tansey and substituting some good bitumen back road for some highway work.
Lunch at Goomeri and then Ian and Rod took the main road home while me, Steve and Mike headed down to the old sawmill to see what we reckoned from then on.
We felt that we had ridden the Widgee road a fair bit lately and we could use a change so we set out to ride Manumbar Road out to Nanango and then continue on down the main drag to Kilcoy…
It was pissing down at times particularly once we got back here on the coast but my wet weather gear did the job and I quite enjoyed the riding along with a bit of rain pelting me. I reckon it’s all good sport and quite interesting too as long as you aren’t wet or cold that is…
